Wayne State is noted in a story and report highlighting the first satellite office of the United States Patent and Trademark Office set to open in Detroit in early spring 2011. James Stevens, president of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association, told reporters the presence of schools such as Wayne State University and U-M brings diversity to the local technology. The schools pushed for the office to come to the area.
